New Catalog

It feels like I am one of the absolute last people to finally receive their catalogs! I finally got mine though! At the same time I got my catalog I also got a swap I participated in back! When I received both of them I was really excited! So there may have been a few excited "YEAH"'s! Well I tore open the swap and left the packaging on the counter! Later on my six year old saw the tore open packaging and said "What is that?!" usually post office packages mean candy/presents for him! My three year old looked at him and said "I don't know but Mom is sure excited!". I thought it was really cute!
I am really excited about some of the new accessories in the new catalog! I love the new pretties kit!! I am really excited for scallop circle punch and that we now sell the designer label punch individually! I have a cropodile I absolutely love, so I am excited to be able to sell it now! I love some of the new background stamps and wheels! I love the Voila Accessories and the Boatloads of Love!
What does everyone else think?!

Wedding Anniversary

As everyone probably knows, my Grandparent's celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. So we had a party for them! I made a paper cake and mini album for them. Here is the picture of how they turned out at the party!

Laundry Time!

Recently there have been so many cute cards with these little folded shirts I just had to try folding one myself! The cards are super simple as it was late by the time I got the actual shirts folded. I got the tutorial off of Cambria's blog! I LOVE her blog! She has such cute things on there! http://cambriaturnbow.blogspot.com/ This first one is made with black and pomegranate cardstock. The shirt is folded out of designer series paper from the palette o' prints. The little tie tac is a silver diamond brad from the vintage brad package.

The picture on this next one didn't turn out as well! The colors are saffron, celery and of course the blue designer paper from palette o' prints.

Preview Chipboard

This is my first try at using chipboard!! The chipboard flower is from the new Fall and Winter Preview package! I was a little scared of trying it out, but it ended up being so super easy! I just glue sticked the entire chipboard image, stuck it to the designer paper and trimmed! Voila! Super easy and super cute! I punched the whole in the middle of the flower with my crop-o-dile. Can I just tell you how CRAZY I am about the crop-o-dile? It punches through chipboard like butter! It is awesome! I used a silver brad for the center of the flower. For the papers on this card I used the new soft sky and pomegranate. Can you tell I am obsessed with the new in color papers?! I also used the yellow and pink designer papers from the palette o' prints. I embossed the background with my cuddlebug tiny bubbles embossing folder! I used the tag punches and the "joy" from small script! I embellished with my typical white organdy ribbon! Thanks for looking!

Swap Card

This is a card I made for a swap! If you are swapping with Shauna and want to be surprised, look no further! The colors are close to cocoa and pretty in pink. The background is close to cocoa craft ink embossed with clear embossing powder.

Addicted to Baroque Motifs

What a fun stamp set this is!! Can you tell I love it? I decided to play around with embossing stamped backgrounds, so I stamped the background and then embossed it with the flourish embossing folder. One color scheme is close to cocoa, caramel and the new blue bayou and the second is chocolate chip, caramel and blue bayou! Hope you like!!

Sick Zebra

I have been playing around with my new Zoofari set and my cuddlebug embossing folders! I made the zebra all sorts of silly colors. I think he looks a little sea sick in wasabi green! For this card I used wasabi green and river rock cardstock. The river rock looks green to me, so I decided to pair it up with the wasabi! The background is embossed with the cuttlebug folder "textiles". The saying is from the new Holidays and Wishes stamp set. I gave the zebra his sick hue with an aquapainter and wasabi green stamp pad.

For this next zany zebra card I used the new pomegranate and black cardstock. I embossed the black cardstock with the "mosaic" embossing folder! I have to say I am having such a good time with the new cuddlebug goodies! I also added a smidge of designer paper from the palette o' prints pack! This is another new toy I am crazy about! I once again watercolored the zebra with an aquapainter and the pomegranate stamp pad. I added a touch of organdy to highlight the white cardstock the zebra was stamped on. I used "from the heart" from the Holidays and Wishes stamp set. I like to choose general sentiments so the card is really versatile. It could be a baby card, a birthday card etc.

Baroque Motifs

I have been playing around (again) with my new Baroque Motifs stamp set! This first card I totally cased from SCS. I used close to cocoa and the new river rock paper. Boy oh boy does river rock look green to me! I embossed the swirl in close to cocoa craft ink and clear embossing powder. The ink for the flower and saying is close to cocoa classic ink. I embellished with a little ribbon. I don't have the ticket punch (I need it though!) so I impervised by punching the corners of this project with my circle punch.

This next card looks a lot better in person! I used the new purely pomegranate cardstock along with silver and a smidge of white. For the background of this card I embossed the silver swirl onto the siler cardstock. It just doesn't show up in the picture! I then stamped the swirl in pomegranate and the little flower in silver. I finished with a little white organdy ribbon.

Snow Leopard

I made this card for my DD! She is obsessed with snow leopards. Not sure exactly what the animal in the set is, but I think he looks kind of like a leopard! The set is Stampin Up's new Zoofari set from the Fall-Winter Preview Brochure. I also used a stamp from Fresh Fillers for the background and "joy" from Small Script. I used black, grey and white cardstock for a monochromatic theme (depends on what you consider monochromatic). I stamped the leopard and joy in black and used white craft ink for the background. The oval for joy was punched using the smaller SU oval punch (I need to get the larger oval punch for layering!). I watercolored the leopard using an aqua painter and grey and black stamp pads (squeezed the ink against the lid and used this as a palette). Overall just a simple card!! DD was very happy with it though!

Anniversary Accordion Album

I was a little unsure of this stamp set when I first saw it...I have to say though it is really growing on me! I made this little album to display at my Grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. It uses the new Baroque Motifs stamp set, close to cocoa cardstock, creamy caramel cardstock and some designer paper I bought at Michael's. I stamped with close to cocoa ink and embellished with vinatge brads. To make it I cut a sheet of 8.5X11 close to cocoa cardstock into two 4X11 inch strips. I took one strip and cut it down to 4X9. I then took the strips and scored them at 3 inch intervals. On the 4X11 inch strip I had an extra two inch flap leftover. Using glue stick I secured this flap to the back of one of the 4X9's panels. So I now have a 20 inch long piece of cardstock scored at 3 inch intervals. I folded the 3 inch panels into an accordion and then embellished!! I really hope this makes sense!!! Here are views of the whole thing, the front and then the end. If you can't read the quote on the end panel it says: There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.
